Zudem zeigt uns COSMOPOLA Manuels Serie 'Sleepers - new reloaded' : This is a new approach to the series sleepers. Since Manuel has discovered the wonders of CGI he created new images of "old" series sleepers, an old series of photos. It is about how people are asleep even when they are awake. The ones at the windows are CG, the only photo in those images are the people inside. Buildings, trees everything is added on CG. The giant ones are just composed in Photoshop. This is a new approach to the series sleepers. Since Manuel has discovered the wonders of CGI he created new images of "old" series sleepers, an old series of photos. It is about how people are asleep even when they are awake.

"As part of my Knitted Camouflage project I spent an amazing day recently shooting with DJ Fat Boy Slim, AKA Norman Cook. Norman has a bit of a thing about smileys, from the tattoo on his arm to the medallion around his neck, and this extends to the roof of his house, which conveniently has an 8m wide smiley face painted on the roof. I felt this had to be immortalised in knitwear by the intrepid Nina Dodd.
I balanced on a ridiculously large step ladder, taking advantage of the biggest tripod I own, the Gitzo Giant, while Norman lay back and squinted into the sun in his hand-knitted robe, smoking a cigar. We also flew a drone around the house while we shot, getting some great behind the scenes footage, and making a little film to go with one of Fat Boy Slim’s iconic tracks, Right Here, Right Now (used with permission, of course). German TV station Deutsche Welle flew over to film the shoot. Photographing celebrities can be a challenging job but shooting with Fat Boy Slim was an amazing experience - he was just as excited about the project as the rest of the crew and was very relaxed about the whole shoot. To clear up a frequently asked question, yes, the clothes are really knitted, not created in Photoshop or CGI. Check out the behind the scenes footage if you don’t believe me!"
Ein weiteres Motiv seiner 'Knitted Camouflage' Serie entstand ebenfalls an der englischen Küste : "I found this location on a walk along the South Downs near Beachy Head in the UK this summer, and thought it would be a perfect place for a portrait. Fast forward through a few weeks of intensive knitting by Nina Dodd, and I was looking for the right person to photograph here. I spotted Lo in the street in Brighton. She had just finished her degree and was moving back to Brazil that week. I’d originally thought of this as a sunny picture, but the time pressure meant that I had to shoot it on a dull day. In the end I prefer it this way with the soft dusk light. Al Jazeera were making a feature about the Knitted Camouflage project and spent a couple of windy hours on the cliff-top, filming us as we shot."
JOSEPH FORD was invited to be an artist in residence at MAUSA Vauban, a new museum dedicated to urban and street art in the historic town of Neuf-Brisach. His images might seem an odd choice for a street art museum, but the museum’s creator Stanislas Belhomme explained that he felt his Knitted Camouflage series fitted in perfectly.

Ilka & Franz are a German/ Austrian photographer duo based in London (UK). Their work blurs the lines between portraiture and still life and is often humorous with an unexpected twist. While their unmistakable use of colour is vibrant and bold, their conceptual undertones are often subtle and of child-like naivety. Ilka & Franz draw their inspiration from pop culture, kitsch and surrealism as they put a playful spin on the ordinary. The duo work on editorial and commercial commissions in the UK and abroad.
