ISABEL PINTO fotografierte in Lima mit jungen Akteuren, die erstmalig vor einer Kamera standen, ein Fashion Editorials für das HOOLIGANS MAGAZIN.
“While spending more than two months in Peru, I felt the enormous impact of colonial times, still ruling the everyday lives of everyone, both the privileged and underprivileged. The way we perceive beauty as beautiful has become so normalized with skin color and economic status that most of the time, most people cannot recognize it or reflect upon it. These beautiful children come from a very poor background and were cast from a local public school, with parents very suspicious of my intentions as kidnapping happens every day. After the bridge of good intentions had been built and trust started seeding, the parents and kids blossomed in ways I could have never imagined. Annah Segarra did an amazing job of styling in her very special way, inspiring the children with movements and new emotions, as absolutely special as they are.”
